October 13

  • took attendance
  • passed around the new student needs assessment and asked for feedback (otherwise, the program is ready to go and we can start using in Health classes)
  • asked for possible ideas for wellness Wednesday presentations
  • discussed a staff development day focusing on wellness (Pam Jordan is looking into this) Staff would choose from a menu of services
  • possible healthy eating cookbook for staff (Marcia DiGregorio is looking into this) Staff would provide healthy recipes to share with one another
  • would like to see Louise to see if she can host breakfasts for the staff in the library a few times a year
  • Janelle Hadly is looking into having Weight Watchers on site for the staff
  • big discussion about staff morale and having a place (like a lounge) to decompress during the day
  • discussed if staff are allowed to exercise during plan/lunch? (ie how would this look to the public?) but could greatly boost morale!

September 15

  • took attendance, all present except for coaches (see us if you need the full list)
  • discussed objectives for the committee
  • split into 3 groups and came up with questions for a needs assessment survey
  • 3 groups represented: parents, students, and staff
  • questions related to: exercise, nutrition and stress needs
  • follow-up: hopefully getting needs assessment results back by next mtg. (oct. 13)
  • plan to have assessments filled out online (seeing rich hug for help with this)
  • discussed possibly having Marie Wickersham attend one meeting in the future to discuss cafeteria changes
