Email IEPPLUS problems with the subject "IEPPLUS DIFFICULTIES"
The group discussed continued problems with IEPPLUS, it was decided anytime a teacher has a problem with IEPPLUS they will email the problem to Sherri Morrett and CC- Bruce Vosburgh and RIch Hug. These complaints have been on-going with no resolution.
Group brainstormed ways handle the caseload numbers next year. The discussion was how six teachers can service nine teams over three grades. The group also brainstormed how to manage caseloads next year with 25-30 students per teacher.
Anita will schedule an appointment with Mr. Vosburgh to discuss next years caseloads and placements and the best possible way to service the students.
The group also discussed dismissing students from special education. At the beginning of the year the special education staff at the middle school was encouraged to make the move to dismiss students who no longer qualified for special education services. It has been reported that twice this year students that were in the process of being dismissed, their ERs were pulled back and the students were not dismissed.

*List of 7th grade students need to given to Anita with list of classes in support and any other important information- need ASAP

Will there be a new learning support teacher at the middle school to replace Tina Pensyl who is going to be the Autistic Support Teacher.
What is the best way to handle the high number of eighth grade students next year with two 8th grade support teachers.

Contact Sherri – first with questions/concerns she will determine if Chris Kramer is needed- DO NOT email both of them
*IEP- any changes with an IEP- placement changes(LS to ES)transportation, change in service etc. Sherri MUST attend the IEP as LEA
Sherri reported there will be shuffling/changing of staff-looking to shuffle someone to an Autistic Support Teacher.
If you have a AS student you should think about using the Autistic Track team at IU- Sherri encouraged using more resources from IU
Please send any reports of problems/issues/concerns from a re eval to the DO with the IEP- you can just hand write it and attach it to the report.
Change in ESY times- dates are 6/29-7/30- K-8 8:30-12:30
Social skills etc. ESY- opportunities will be sent out by the end of this week
COMMON IEP Mistakes::
Implementation date- 10 days after meeting--- please be mindful that you don’t use a holiday or weekend date
**If duration date is up and parents cancel IEP meeting still hold the meeting

Procedure for dismissing special education students
*New procedure for IEPs- drafts must be ready three days in advance of an IEP meeting, teacher needs to email Sherri Morret to let her know the draft is ready so Sherri can look over the draft prior to the IEP meeting.
ERs and RRs need to make sure that you paint a picture of what the student looks like in school. Objective needs and behaviors.

*Maurine Richards school psychologist presented the new ER forms. A model was given so special education teachers know which sections they are responsible for and what information is needed in each section.
*Discussion of possibly creating a special education website.
*Concerns with the numbers in IEP and changes in the law. Group discussed what numbers to use when making calculations and how to determine hours spent daily in special education. The hours in the school day should be rounded up to 6.5 on the report.
*Special education staff will email Anita Spizzirri with concerns and suggestions in the IEP format. Anita will compile the list and send to district office.
*Special education staff should email all (special ed staff) with suggestions and concerns.
*Reminder that names for possible vo-tech students (8th grade) need to be in to Jewell Thatcher by December. 6th/7th grades should remember to keep CDC as a possible vo-tech option.
